Mother's Day Blessings, Cows & An Ingenious Disguise

On this Mother's Day, I am so thankful for the sweet, funny, sticky-fingered little guy who calls me Mommy.

Today I am also especially thankful for my own mother (Mimi) and mother-in-law (Nana), who are both such blessings to our family. We love you both!

With mine and Kenny's moms at my bridal luncheon. Whew, this seems like a LONG time ago!

Our days here are long and full, so we love to squeeze in opportunities for family time any chance we get. One afternoon, a simple walk down the road became a fun adventure for little M as he tried to spot as many "tows" (cows) as possible.

On another day, we headed to a nearby park.

We had another round of shots this Friday. Two shot days down, one to go! M once again did very well, crying when they gave them to him but quickly getting over it once he saw that it was "Mommy's turn! Daddy's turn!" However, we realized yesterday that all these shots have given M a complex about Band-aids. After he fell and skinned his knee, I cleaned it and began to apply a Band-aid. He said, "No, Mommy! No, Mommy! Hurt! Shot!" After he realized that the Band-aid went on painlessly, however, he was very proud to show off his "boo boo" to anyone who would listen.

He seems to say a new word or phrase every day. Today when we were playing and he did something funny, he stopped and said "Wook! (Look!) Show Daddy!" and ran into our room to show K his new creation. He has also started saying "That's funny." Usually he says it when absolutely nothing funny is going on, but we all can't help but laugh when he says it, so I guess he is on to something. :)

Speaking of funny, does anyone recognize this child?

In the bath, he likes to lay down on his bath like this and ask me for a pillow. He thinks that this is also a hilarious joke!

Here he is eating applesauce like such a big boy.

He was soooo excited this week to open a package from his cousins E, K, S & K. Thanks so much, you guys!

Thanks for checking in on us! We are now off to enjoy the rest of this beautiful Sunday!
