Great News + M's Animal Adventures

Last Tuesday night, we received a great report from our doctor in Thailand - baby is growing well and the umbilical cord issue seems to be resolved for the moment.

So far, our time in Thailand has mostly been spent resting (doctor's orders!), but we couldn't be in such a neat place without doing a LITTLE exploring. Below are some pictures from our visit to the Chiang Mai Night Safari (though we went in daytime!).

It is such a beautiful place, and the weather was gorgeous.

Silly Daddy!

Meeting an albino porcupine. M is NOT a fan of animals being outside their cages. K told him that if he didn't want to pet it, he could at least put his hand on K's while K did.

So... M put his hand on K's arm... as FAR from that porcupine as he could reach! :)

The worker tried to show M how the porcupines would follow him around since they can't see, but he wanted no part of it.

We saw adorable baby tigers!

And some big ones too! This white one was HUGE and thought the porcupines would make a great snack.

We thought that was funny until the same tiger seemed to get the same idea about little M!

He pounced up on the glass.... which made for a cool picture but also a very nervous Mommy and M. We moved on to the next exhibit after that!

We had such a fun morning, though M was very tired of walking by the time we left! Afterward, we headed to a restaurant for a late lunch. We are enjoying the opportunity to enjoy some good quality beef! Kenny had a burger and I had a French dip with onion rings... so good!

M: "I am putting all the pencils in a big, long line. Tell me what a great idea, Mommy!"

Halfway through our meal, M got sick! He got sick again later that night, and AGAIN the next night.

He's been doing a lot more resting than usual, which translates into a lot more movies, which he hasn't minded one bit.

He has seemed better today. We are praying that whatever has been bothering him is over!

Below are a few more random pictures from our time here so far:

Can you believe that they have Dairy Queen here?? Just the ice cream, but we all know that's the best part anyway. :)

There's a very elderly dog that hangs out at the place where we're staying. I love listening to M's conversations with it (though M is always careful to not get too close!): "Hi doggie, you want to play? No? Okay."

My boys and their first burger in several months!

M enjoying a Krispy Kreme doughnut in the Bangkok airport. Soooo good, second only to Duchess Bakery in Cullman, AL in my opinion.

Our first day grocery shopping was overwhelming to say the least! There are some nice grocery stores back in our city in South Asia, but the selection is nothing like it is here! K and I both stopped and stared when we saw this huge wall of cooking oil! How did we choose? By finding the one brand with an English label of course!

The toiletry section was even more stressful. In South Asia, we often buy shampoo and toiletries from small shops where you ask for shampoo and they put three varieties on the counter for you to choose from. So being faced with seemingly endless choices, few English labels, and a brand new currency to convert was exhausting!

Thank you all for your love and encouragement as you journey along with us. We love you!
