If I could use only one word to describe this January, it would be unpredictable! A month ago, I could have never guessed that this one month would have taken us through six cities, two countries, and multiple frightening doctors' reports. But, here we are... and our January journeys aren't over yet!
At our second doctor's appointment in Thailand, we received more encouraging news. Everything with me, baby and the umbilical cord is still looking normal! Things are looking SO good, in fact, that we can now return to our home in South Asia. We should be back in our city by this Friday afternoon!
During this ultrasound, the technician was also able to tell us without question that we are expecting a baby GIRL! We would have been excited regardless of the baby's gender, but there is something about being able to call the baby in my belly by name that is so special to me. We can't wait to meet baby girl Shiloh, but we are immeasurably grateful that she seems to be staying put for the time being.
In the meantime, we've been spending our last few days enjoying the fresh air and beautiful sights of Thailand. One day, we headed out to explore one of the area's many waterfalls.
M has been very excited about wearing his sunglasses these days. Isn't he cool?
There were lots of paths to explore and rocks to climb on.
And lots of leaves to throw in the water! (Who knew that would be so fun?)
Here are M and K heading down some of the steep staircases. The waterfall had 10 different levels you could walk to, but this pregnant mom decided that we better stop at level 7!

"Take my shoes off so I can swim in the water, Mommy!" M said. But M's fun in the water was short-lived. He bent down to splash me, tipped forward and face-planted right in the cold water and sandy bottom! A few minutes later, he was asking to get out, saying "This is NOT fun!"
What a blessing to make fun memories like these with our soon-to-be family of 4!
This baby girl is getting to have lots of adventures before she's even born. Here we are at 30 1/2 weeks!
On our next to last day here, we headed to the local zoo with an amazing family we have gotten to know here. It was a gorgeous place with tons of animals, and the neatest thing was that you could feed so many of them.
Even the hippos! I've seen hippos at plenty of zoos, but usually they are just lying around. These pictures don't show just how close we were to their HUGE mouths. (Couldn't believe that this was a totally unsupervised activity... only overseas!)
Feeding a jaguar raw steak on a stick was also a one-of-a-kind experience!
Beautiful scenery too!
