Sunsets & Skytrains {Canada: Week Two}

The more moves our family makes, the more we realize that "home" is more than a town, a state, or even a nation. "Home" is wherever we are together, and right now, "home" is right here in Canada! I think M understands this better than us. It only took a few days for him to begin proclaiming "We're home!" every time we enter our apartment building.

From our new home in the high rise, we can see sunsets...

... and the SkyTrain! M loves to watch it from our living room window.

We are beginning to settle into somewhat of a routine. Our mornings are spent in class, and our afternoons and evenings are busy exploring this city.

It's amazing how much children change everything. Instead of looking for a great view or great restaurant, we're always just happy to see a playground. :)

M has officially reached the stage (at least I hope it's a stage!) where nothing is quite good enough for him. You give him one cookie; he wants two. You give him a pancake; he wants a waffle. We take him out for a ferry ride; he wants to "ride a little boat."

One of my favorite things about our new schedule is all the family time we have. We are busy, but we are busy together!

One day, M wanted to ride a camel. He saw a picture of one and was adamant about it. "My ride tamel, Mommy!" This was the best we could do on short notice:

M is very into "tooking" (cooking) right now. He loves standing in a chair at the kitchen table and helping whatever little task I can give him. There's always lots of sweeping to do afterward, but he has fun!

One afternoon this week, we stopped by Tim Horton's for some of their famous "Timbits" (similar to donut holes but taste more like a cake donut).

Our little guy is growing up... "I tan put my pants on, Mommy!" Well... kind of.

M was very "Cited!" to open a package from Granddaddy and Mimi today!

Later this afternoon, we visited a park just a block away from our apartment. There were Little League games going on, and what song do they have blaring? None other than "Sweet Home Alabama."

M set up shop by the playground fence, waving at all who walked back. Then he'd turn back to us and proudly tell us, "I say hi!"

We have already made friends from all over the world - M included.

We count it a privilege to spend this time in this beautifully diverse city. Thank you for remembering us and walking with us, even from far away. We love you!
