We made it, eh!

Monday was a long, long day.

It began well before 3 a.m. We awoke before our alarms - excited and anxious. M woke up soon after we did, smiling big and talking all about "airpwanes."

We had spent the night with two dear friends who showed us the most amazing hospitality. They moved into their new place one night and welcomed us in the next, but you would never have known it from their beautiful home and incredible kindness.

It was around 4 a.m. when we arrived at the airport. By this time, M was looking a little dazed, but he lit right up at the sight of the play area!

He also loved looking outside and watching the planes taxi around. "My ride airpwane too?" he would ask us.

He did really well on all three of our flights. He did sleep for a couple of hours on the middle flight, which was a blessing for all!

Have baby and blanket, will travel!

It's a long story (ask if you're interested), but once we arrived in Canada, it took much longer for us to get out of the airport and to our new home than expected... as in several hours longer! One of our misadventures that evening included getting off at the wrong train stop and having to walk well over a mile to our new home. By this point, M was beyond tired. After all, the poor guy was awake from 1 a.m. PST until well after midnight PST.

We had planned to wait a few days before transitioning him into the toddler bed, but once we walked into his new room, he saw it and said, "I sleep dis one, Mommy!" After a song and story, he curled up with his baby and blanket and quickly fell asleep.

K and I began unpacking and settling into our new place. Just look at this view!

We fell asleep quickly to the sounds of our new city.

The next day was a free day, which gave us time to take care of some essentials: finding a new phone service, setting up Internet, and finding a place to buy groceries.

The first two were easy, and the third wasn't exactly hard, but it was time consuming. We are lucky to live somewhat near a Walmart, but it is still a train ride and then a bus ride away. We arrived there just fine but hopped the wrong bus a couple of times on our way home. Buying groceries is also a whole new adventure when you don't have your own vehicle. We have quickly learned to only buy what you think you can carry!

By the way, this cute little guy fell asleep on the bus on our way to Walmart... and stayed asleep while we shopped.

He is getting pretty good at napping on the go.

Since our Tuesday free day, we have been busy with class in the morning through the early afternoon. M goes to his own little class in the same building, which he is enjoying. After class, we get out and about in the city, exploring and learning our way around.

One day, M and I went to a nearby farmers' market. They even had an area for kids to play!

Everywhere we go is on public transit, whether it's a bus

or a Skytrain.

We have visited parks,
rode trains,

(He even blew the whistle!)

worked on our "puters," (M is watching a movie on what he calls his "Hi-Hi puter.)

enjoyed the view,

visited a playground,

played with M's new train tracks and Thomas,

cooked dinners, (Here's M helping me make pizza... and a mess)

and singing together!

Thank you for joining us on our journey!
